Indonesia has more than 17,500 islands in total. This can be seen from Sabang in Aceh to Merauke in Papua, the Indonesian islands are spread over 5,150 kilometers. With an area of 1.91 million square kilometers, Indonesia has become one of the 14th largest countries in the world. It is even the largest archipelagic country in the world.

Basically, Indonesia itself is located in one of the regions that meet on two paths. The meeting path is two earth plates. Namely the Eurasian Plate and the Indo-Australian Plate. Because these two plates collide and move, causing the earth's crust in Indonesia to break and fold. This is what then created many volcanoes and islands in Indonesia.

Not only that, if you know, geographically Indonesia is also located in a tropical climate area, an area that has high temperatures and rainfall. Thus, it is also a supporter of the growth and development of vegetation in Indonesia, which also plays a role in the existence of islands in Indonesia.

And it can be concluded that Indonesia has many islands because, 1) It is located where the two earth plates meet, 2) It is a tropical climate area, 3) Rainfall in Indonesia is high, and 4) It is caused by growth and development in vegetation.
